Event Porta Potties
How many porta-potties do I need for my event?
The number of porta-potties you need depends on the size of your event and the duration. As a general rule, plan for at least one porta-potty per 50 guests for events lasting up to four hours. If your event is longer or involves food and drinks, consider increasing the number to avoid long lines.
Can I rent porta-potties in different colors to match my event theme?
Yes, with The Lux Loo, you can choose from a variety of colors including pink, grey, beige, and the classic blue. This allows you to match the porta-potties with your event’s theme or color scheme.
How far in advance should I book porta-potties for my event?
It’s best to book your porta-potties as early as possible, especially during peak event seasons. A good rule of thumb is to book at least 1-2 months in advance to ensure availability and secure your preferred color and quantity.
Do the porta-potties come with handwashing stations?
Handwashing stations are available as an add-on option with The Lux Loo. These stations are designed with a foot pump for hands-free use and come with warm water, making them a great complement to the porta-potties for enhanced hygiene.
What is included with the porta-potty rental?
Each porta-potty rental from The Lux Loo includes delivery, setup, and pickup, along with fully stocked toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and a deodorizing unit. We ensure that everything is clean and ready to go before your event starts.
Handwashing Stations
How many handwashing stations do I need for my event?
The number of handwashing stations you’ll need depends on the size of your event and the number of guests. As a general guideline, you should have one handwashing station for every 4-6 porta-potties. For larger events, or those where food is being served, additional stations may be advisable to ensure smooth flow and guest satisfaction.
Do the handwashing stations require a power source?
No, the handwashing stations can still be used without a power source; they just require power to warm the water. If a 15amp/110v electrical connection is available, your guests can enjoy warm water, but even without power, the stations remain fully functional with cold water.
How long will the water last in the handwashing station?
The Lux Loo handwashing stations can handle up to 300 uses on a single fill. They feature a 17-gallon fresh water tank and a 19-gallon grey water holding capacity, which is typically sufficient for most events. However, for very large events, you may need to arrange for a refill or additional stations.
Are the handwashing stations easy to use?
Absolutely. The Lux Loo handwashing stations are designed with a foot pump for easy, hands-free operation. This not only makes them user-friendly but also enhances hygiene by minimizing direct contact.
Can the handwashing stations be placed indoors as well as outdoors?
Yes, The Lux Loo handwashing stations are versatile and can be placed both indoors and outdoors. Just ensure there is access to a power source if you need warm water, and that the placement allows for proper drainage of the grey water tank.

If your event location has limited access, please inform us in advance. Our team will assess the situation and work with you to find a solution, whether it’s adjusting the delivery logistics or selecting a suitable trailer model.
The Lux Loo’s restroom trailers require a standard 2x20amp electrical service during the summer months. However, in winter, a more robust 3x30amp service is necessary to ensure that the unit remains warm and the tanks do not freeze. Proper electrical setup is crucial for maintaining optimal functionality and comfort throughout your event.
Typically, a garden hose connected to a water source is sufficient for the restroom trailers. However, if you don’t have access to a water source at your event location, we can arrange to fill the water tank prior to delivery in some cases. Please reach out to us in advance if you require this service, and we’ll make the necessary arrangements to ensure your trailer is fully prepared.
Commercial Septic Pumping
The frequency of septic pumping for construction site washrooms depends on several factors, including the number of units, the volume of usage, and the size of the waste tanks. Typically, we recommend scheduling a pump-out every 1-2 weeks for active construction sites to prevent overflows and maintain hygiene. For less busy sites, or if you have multiple units, the interval might be longer. Our team can assess your specific needs and recommend a suitable pumping schedule to ensure smooth operation.
If a septic system is not pumped regularly, it can lead to a range of issues including unpleasant odors, blocked waste lines, and potential overflows. This can disrupt your construction site operations and create unsafe and unsanitary conditions for workers. Regular pumping ensures that the system operates efficiently, prevents backups, and maintains a clean and functional environment on-site.
Signs that your septic system may need immediate pumping include slow-draining toilets, frequent backups, or strong odors around the units. Additionally, if you notice that the waste levels in the tanks are rising rapidly or the system is becoming less efficient, it’s time to schedule a pump-out. If you’re unsure, our team can perform a quick inspection and provide expert advice on whether immediate service is needed to prevent any issues.
No, to maintain our industry-leading standards and ensure the proper operation of our restroom trailers, we only authorize our skilled team to handle septic pumping for The Lux Loo trailers. Our professionals are trained to perform the service efficiently and in accordance with our high-quality standards, ensuring that your trailer remains in optimal condition and continues to provide top-notch facilities for your site.
Construction Site Porta Potties
The number of porta potties you’ll need depends on the size of your crew and the duration of your workday. As a general rule, we recommend one unit for every 10 workers over a 40-hour workweek. If your crew works longer shifts or your site is particularly busy, you may want to add more units to ensure everyone has access when needed.
Our porta potties are typically serviced once a week, which includes thorough cleaning, restocking of supplies, and waste removal. However, depending on your site’s needs, we can adjust the frequency of service to ensure your units remain clean and fully operational at all times.
We handle everything from delivery to setup, ensuring your porta potties are ready for use as soon as they arrive. Our team will coordinate with you to find the best placement on-site, and we can accommodate any special requests or restrictions you may have. After your project wraps up, we’ll take care of the removal, leaving your site clean and clear.
Yes, our porta potties meet all current BC legislation requirements. We offer units equipped with flushing toilets and sinks. When requesting a quote or booking your porta potty, please specify if you require flush toilets to ensure compliance and comfort on your site.
Please Note: Porta potties with flush toilets are unavailable between November and March. If you require flush toilets in these months, ask about our heated restroom trailers.
Worksite Restroom Trailers
Yes, restroom trailers with flushable toilets and running water fully comply with British Columbia’s WorkSafeBC regulations for jobsites. Depending on the amount of workers on a jobsite, employers may have to provide clean and sanitary washroom facilities with running water, handwashing stations, and proper waste disposal. Our restroom trailers meet and exceed these standards, ensuring your site remains compliant while providing your crew with comfortable, hygienic facilities.
To maintain compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, restroom trailers should be serviced regularly to ensure they remain clean, stocked, and in good working order. We recommend servicing the trailers at least once a week, but depending on the size of your crew and the intensity of your project, more frequent servicing may be necessary. This includes emptying waste tanks, replenishing supplies, and general cleaning to keep the facilities sanitary.
Yes, our restroom trailers are suitable for use on all types of construction sites across British Columbia. They are particularly beneficial for longer-term projects or jobsites that require a higher standard of facilities, such as those in urban areas or sites with larger crews. WorkSafeBC regulations require that facilities are easily accessible, and our trailers can be positioned to ensure convenience for your workers while meeting all regulatory requirements.
Yes, our restroom trailers are designed for year-round use, including during winter months. However, to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues such as freezing, they require a larger power source in colder weather. Additionally, extra insulation for some components may be necessary depending on your specific site conditions and temperatures. For a tailored solution that meets your needs, please get in touch with us to receive a custom quote and discuss your winter requirements.
Residential Septic Tank Pumping
How often should I schedule septic tank pumping for my home?
The frequency of septic tank pumping depends on several factors, including the size of your tank, the number of people in your household, and your water usage. Generally, it’s recommended to pump your septic tank every 3-5 years. However, if you have a large household or use a lot of water, more frequent pumping may be necessary. Regular inspections can help determine the optimal schedule for your specific situation.
What are the signs that my septic tank needs pumping?
Common signs that your septic tank may need pumping include slow-draining sinks and toilets, gurgling sounds in the plumbing, unpleasant odors around the drain field, or standing water in the yard. If you notice any of these issues, it’s a good idea to schedule a pump-out to prevent potential problems and maintain proper system function.
How long does a septic tank pumping take?

If necessary, we’ll take precautions to protect your lawn or driveway during the process. If you have any specific concerns about access or property protection, please let us know in advance.
How much does septic tank pumping cost?

For an accurate estimate, please contact us with details about your system, and we’ll be happy to provide a customized quote.
Do I need to be home for the septic tank pumping service?
While it’s not always necessary for you to be home during the service, it’s helpful to provide access to the tank and any relevant information about its location. If you’re not available, please ensure that we have clear instructions on how to access the tank and any necessary permissions. Our team will complete the job efficiently and leave your property in good condition.
What happens to the waste that is pumped out of my septic tank?
The waste that is pumped out of your septic tank is transported to a licensed treatment facility where it is properly processed and disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Our team follows all environmental guidelines to ensure that the waste is handled responsibly and safely.
Can septic tank pumping prevent future problems with my septic system?
Regular septic tank pumping helps to maintain the efficiency and longevity of your septic system by removing accumulated sludge and preventing overflows. While it cannot entirely eliminate the risk of future issues, it significantly reduces the likelihood of backups and system failures. Routine maintenance and inspections, combined with proper use, will help keep your system in good working condition.
Grease Trap Pumping
How often should I schedule grease trap pumping for my restaurant?
The frequency of grease trap pumping depends on the size of your trap and the volume of grease your establishment produces. As a general guideline, we recommend having your grease trap pumped every 1-3 months for most restaurants. High-volume kitchens or those with more intensive grease production might require more frequent service. Regular pumping helps prevent clogs, maintain proper function, and ensure compliance with health regulations.
What are the signs that my grease trap needs immediate pumping?
Signs that your grease trap may need immediate attention include slow-draining sinks, unpleasant odors, or frequent backups in your plumbing. If you notice any of these issues, it’s crucial to schedule a pump-out as soon as possible to prevent potential clogs and maintain a smooth operation in your kitchen. Regular maintenance can help avoid these problems and keep your grease trap functioning efficiently.
Can I continue using my kitchen while the grease trap is being pumped?
Yes, you can continue using your kitchen during the grease trap pumping process, but there may be some temporary inconvenience. Our team works efficiently to minimize any disruption to your operations.
